Local Cave Mine Leader Award (LCMLA)
The Local Cave Mine Leader Award (LCMLA) is an accreditation scheme for those leading groups in UK caves and abandoned mines. The LCMLA scheme is nationaly  administered by the British Caving Association.
Level 1 is appropriate for leaders working in horizontal cave and mine systems and level 2 for those who lead groups in caves and mines with vertical sections.

Cave Instructors Certificate (CIC)
The Cave Instructors Certificate (CIC) is highest instructing award in caving and is designed for those involved in teaching caving skills and leading guided parties in the full range of UK caves and potholes.


Single Pitch Award (SPA)
The Single Pitch Award (SPA) is for climbers who wish to supervise groups and novice climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. The SPA is a nationally recognised qualification and is administered by MLTUK




Hill and Moorland Leader Award & Mountain Leader Award (ML)
The Hill and Moorland Leader Award is for those who wish to lead groups in upland but non-mountainous terrain such as that found in Yorkshire Dales and areas of the Peak District

The Summer Mountain Leader Award qualifies the holder to lead groups of hillwalkers anywhere in the British Isles outside of winter-conditions.

Both schemes are recognised by private companies, local education authorities, the Health and Safety Executive and other government bodies as the appropriate qualification for those leading walking groups in the British Isles.
